Description

The Advanced Yoga Teachers Training Course (ATTC) allows graduates from the Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course (TTC) to deepen their spiritual practice and their study of Hatha yoga, Vedanta philosophy, Raja yoga, Anatomy, and Sanskrit.  Advanced Yoga Teachers Training couse is another opportunity to practice under guidance in a supportive atmosphere with long-time (up to 30 years) yoga practitioners and teachers. Advanced yoga teachers training course gives you a boost of energy and clarity. The program is similar to the 200 hour yoga teachers training cousre and should not be perceived as a course only for experts.

Curriculum

Yoga Asanas  – Progress in your yoga asana practice (practice advanced variations and prolonged holding of the postures). Increase your concentration and will-power.
Pranayama  – One hour of practice each morning from 5:00 am – 6:00 am which is including advanced pranayama, mudras and bandhas.
Raja Yoga –  In-depth study of Patanjali Yoga Sutras for deeper understanding of how to control and eventually transcend the mind.
Sanskrit  – The alphabet, pronunciation and the writing of sacred mantras.
Kriyas  – Functioning of the nervous and the endocrine systems in relation to the practice of yoga.

Daily Schedule

5:00 a.m.     Advanced Pranayama class
6:00 a.m.     Satsang (meditation, chanting and lecture) or silent walk
7:45 a.m.     Asana class – 1 Hour
9:00 a.m.     Anatomy and physiology lecture
10:00 a.m.   Vegetarian Brunch
11:00 a.m.   Karma Yoga
12 noon       Raja yoga or Sanskrit lecture
2:00 p.m.     Main lecture (Vedanta, bhakti yoga, karma yoga)
4:00 p.m.     Advanced asana and pranayama class
6:00 p.m.     Vegetarian Dinner
8:00 p.m.     Satsang (meditation, chanting, and lecture) or special program

Study of the different philosophical schools of India, vedantic theory and practice, and vedantic meditation techniques.  This schedule is followed 6 days of the week, with one day off for resting, studying, etc.

Teaching Certificate

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive the Certificate of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, entitled “Yoga Acharya”.

This training is registered by and fulfils the requirements for the Yoga Alliance 500-hour certification, for which graduates of the program are invited to register.

Guidelines

Participation in all classes and punctuality are mandatory. Wearing of uniforms is expected for all satsangs and lectures. The basic guidelines are: No drugs, alcohol, smoking, non-vegetarian food items, nudity and promiscuity, weapons, loud music, backbiting and profanity. You need to have health insurance or sign a medical health release.

What to Bring

Bring your TTC uniforms with you, comfortable clothes for asana practice plus casual clothes. Be prepared for hot weather and possible rain. We recommend that you bring a waterproof jacket, t-shirts, warm pants, socks, nightclothes, shoes for nature walks and a pair of slip-on shoes. For those in dormitories, sheets and pillows are provided. Bring your own yoga mat, meditation cushion, meditation shawls, blankets, toiletries, books, notebooks, pens, flashlights, alarm clocks, postage stamps, water bottles, snacks and beverages will be available in the boutique.

Address: Known as the City of Eternal Spring, Dalat is a very popular destination for it cool and stable weather, hovers between a pleasant 15°C (average daily minimum) to 24°C (average daily maximum) and attractive landscape of colonial villas, gardens, lakes and rolling hills. Located around 1,400 meters above the sea level, it is indeed an ideal place for Yoga retreat, summer escape and on-top-of-the-list rest and relaxation site in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.  Dalat market has always been a must-see site for visitors with its locally-made specialties such as artichoke tea, candied fruits, coffee and the finest cool climate vegetables and flowers in Vietnam.

Teachers and Translation

The course will be offered in English with senior Sivananda teachers. It will be translated simultaneously in Vietnamese, Japanese, Russian and Mandarin Chinese.
